I wouldn't go in there love...

So i did a shoot on tuesday with photographer Kit Chan and the extremely talented model Charlotte Portas.
The theme for the styling was sort of edgy/glam with some late 80's/early 90's references (Think early Versace campaigns with the Supers, a lot of gold, animal print, really groomed make-up etc.) and we wanted to create a contrast by shooting in a really gritty location.

We came across this abandoned warehouse (god knows how). The natural light was amazing and the amount of space was great. It was the perfect place to shoot in.
It was also a Crack den.

I mean seriously,
I would put the pictures up but i suspect you could get aids from just looking at them.

I think (hope) we got some good pictures though... for the sake of the model at least.
Avoiding a heroin addiction whilst posing is probably not fun.

Its not skins. Promise.

Finally got some new styling work up from Thursdays shoot with my favourite photographer IN the whole world, Nick Eagle. (and also my very talented man, look at him owning that sofa!)

The idea was a group of students extremely mashed and on the come down from an immense house party.
Ok maybe it is skins.

Crazy Bitch...

Gaga and Bey have done it again! I love the new video for 'Telephone'
Can you spot the Kill Bill references? Not hard really with the big fat 'PUSSY WAGON' sprayed all over their getaway truck..

It seems 'Telephone' isnt the only music video with some Tarantino-esque inspiration behind it at the moment either, Check out the new Gorillaz vid 'Stylo' (I am SO excited about their new album) and see if you can spot the famous face...

Guna be posting some more of my favourite videos soon so hold tight (the Sheffield mandem?)

Eat your heart out Neil Buchanan...

So this is the result of me staying up into the night with crayons and paint (like a naughty child after too much art attack)
Aside from having a huge vulture nose, i think its ok.... (?)
I started off in pencil, added the colour with pencil crayons (why do i feel like a 5 year old writing this?) outlined it with fineliner then went a bit crazy with black paint for the hair.
Il think ill be doing a lot more just so i can get it right.

And more.....

Wow! How amazing are these illustrations by Jason Levesque?
They remind me of princess Mononoke.

I found a whole bunch of awesome illustrations when i was trawling through model mayhem looking for a photographer. It looks like someones giving me signs...

Drawing tings, I do love.

So i have been thinking for a while that i want to start getting creative again.
Not just within styling but through painting, fabric manipulation, taking photographs, drawing stuff and just making a general mess.

I recently came across these portraits by fashion illustrator Danny Roberts. I really love this type of illustration.
Love. Love. Love.

I just love the CHARACTER these drawings have.

Its definately inspired me to get back into illustration.
Hopefully i'll be posting some pritty pikchas once iv got my crayolas out.

'Nomad Couture' for Wella Trend Vision

I just finished helping my good friend and superb hairstylist Hannah Taylor with her entry for Wella's annual 'Trend Vision' competion.

The theme hannah had to represent was 'Nomad Couture'.
Im not exactly sure what that means, but im pretty sure we represented the shit out of it.

We were going for a kind of tribal theme, hence the sickass warpaint and chunky beads and shit. (I managed to get my little wooden friend in there too. )
This was the final image Hannah chose to be entered into Trend Vision and i think you'll agree the hair looks amazing. Well done Hannah!
